Possibly Using Productivity to Meet Emotional Needs...

Let’s take a few minutes to reflect on how you get your emotional needs met. The following list includes some of the signs that you are using toxic productivity to meet your emotional needs:

ree
  • You struggle with setting boundaries and saying no to additional commitments. You take on more than you can handle and often overextend yourself.

  • Even though you accomplish your tasks, you feel unsatisfied and unfulfilled.

  • You have anxious thoughts about failure and can’t fight the feelings that you are falling behind or not meeting expectations.

  • You feel that people around you will show you respect or affection if you say yes to their requests.

If any of these apply to you, become curious about how you view your emotional needs. Consider the following questions, and journal your response if you’d like:

  • Think back to a time where you felt fulfilled emotionally. What activities, experiences, people, or moments made you feel this way?

  • Which of the six main core emotional needs (safety, connection, self-esteem, exploration, love, purpose) are most important to you?

  • How do you prioritize your emotional needs in daily life? What areas require more attention or balance?

Good news! I can help if this describes you!
